Bed Bug News

What Do Bed Bugs Look Like?
To make it as simple as possible bed bugs as “nits”, baby bed bugs are EXTREMELY tiny and very difficult to see a and bed bug eggs are nearly impossible to see, but mature bed bugs are about ¼ inch long and a little bigger after feeding. Basically, they look like a drop of blood with six legs and they move about as fast as an ant. They’re loners but sometimes can be found grouped together because they’ve ALL picked the same place to hide. It is Knockout Pest Control’s philosophy NOT to assault site visitors with graphic images of pests unless you want to see them close-up and personal, but if you want to see an enlarged image of a ¼ inch bed bug – photographed by major universities’ entomology department – CLICK HERE and a pop-up window will display.

What Do Bed Bug Bites Look Like?
No one can really describe a bed bug bite, because people react to bed bugs differently. The more allergic and the number of bites due to the degree of bed bug exposure has a lot to do with the manifestation of the bite. To some people it may look like a mosquito bite, others develop welts that take weeks to heal, and to people who aren’t allergic at all…nothing. Bed Bug bites can be singular, or clump, but sometimes bed bugs bite in a line. One of the best way to identify a bed bug bite is if you get “mosquito” bites in the dead of winter with snow on the ground…probably not a mosquito. In keeping with our philosophy of not assaulting visitors with graphic images, if you would like to see an image of a bed bug bite with a reaction, CLICK HERE and a pop-up window will display an image. Note that this individual experienced some bite formations in a line.
