KNOCKOUT – HONEY, I’M HOME!!!
January 20, 2011

Winter Vacation
It’s winter in New York. The ice and snow storms may not be here yet but they will come. However, the temps are dropping, especially at night. So, when the weather becomes too inhospitable outside for the billions of insects and millions of rodents… what do they do? Well, many insects simply die and just leave behind eggs and egg casings for their offspring to emerge in the spring. Other insects, act like migrating birds; they take off to warmer regions, only to return when warmer weather patterns shift back north. Other insects burrow their way deeper into the ground or use a unique survival technique called “homogenous nucleation” where the insect turns its body fluids into a sort of anti-freeze so they can hibernate over the winter.
Unfortunately, the majority of outdoor pests, including rodents, do what WE do - they go “inside”, into our homes and places of business. Basically, they want to move in with us. What really makes matters worse is that when these pests find out how good WE have it indoors and that WE are a seemingly endless resource for food… they never want to go back outside.
Whenever YOU see in the wintertime a mouse scurry across a kitchen floor, a centipede speed across a basement floor, a clicking firebrat near the fireplace, or even one of those scary cave crickets anywhere in your home… you realize then you’ve got the potential of a big problem.
Whether it’s a home or business, it doesn’t take long in the ideal conditions of the warmth and safety of an indoor environment to have a population of rodents or insects explode into a full blown infestation.
So may we suggest THREE things – (1) BEFORE you see the first signs of any pest invasion problem CALL Knockout Pest Control to do an interior and exterior inspection of your home or business property to alert you to existing or potential pest entry issue. (2) CALL Knockout Pest Control at the very first sign of any pest you see or see signs of in your home or business. Addressing a pest problem early on means treatments will be more effective and less costly., (3) CALL Knockout Pest Control and arrange to protect your home or business with our unique KO-12 Program. Having a Knockout Pest Control KO-12 program will give you the ability to CALL Knockout Pest Control for almost any pest problem WITHOUT worrying about any extra costs. See the KO-12 Banner on this website for more details.
We hope you enjoy your winter.
