Five Stages of Green Pest Management

Step One: Inspection
In the initial stage of the Green Pest Management program, Knockout’s home/business inspection will identify existing infestation problems and help eliminate future issues. Knockout will also note current points of entry, uncover potential food and water sources that attract pests and vermin and locate signs of existing pest activity. After your home/business has been thoroughly inspected, your Knockout Pest Green Pest Management professional will develop a list of maintenance tasks for you to follow in order to reduce or eliminate infestation. By making the home/business owner aware of how, why and where infestation occurs they will be able to significantly reduce the susceptibility to invasion and avoid future recurrences.
Step Two: Make your Premises Less Attractive to Pests
Do you remember the story about the “ounce of prevention” being worth more than the “pound of cure?” Well, once home and business owners learn why and how pests are invading their premises they can reduce and prevent the threat of infestation by repairing the points of entry and removing any sources of “temptation” such as water and food. This may sound simple but many home and business owners are not aware that pet food, garbage (even in containers with tight lids) yard debris, compost piles and leaky pipes are all powerful attractants for insects and vermin alike.
Step Three: Seal Points of Entry and Other
During the initial inspection of the premises, Knockout’s Green Pest Management professionals will target and identify the specific points of entry pests use to enter your home or business. Knockout will then advise home and business owners on how best to seal these areas permanently and what materials to use for optimal results. Next, as part of a customized plan for the control and elimination of any existing problems, your pest management professional will identify outside areas that may be contributing to infestation. Some typical outdoor problems are a result of piles of leaves or yard debris near your property’s foundation, overhanging branches allowing for easy roof access, clogged gutters and leaders and leaky outside faucets. Removal, replacement or repair of these pathways will not be expensive and much of the work can easily be accomplished by the home or business owner themselves.
